Motown the Musical came to Jacksonville, so we decided to take the kids to their first "Broadway Show." They enjoyed it, especially Kevin. I caught him doing hand motions during the Temptations' songs. I think he could be a Pip, if Gladys will take him.
The kids were sword fighting with old wrapping paper inserts. They started breaking, so Caroline firmed them up with her duct tape. Kevin taped one to his hat, becoming a fighting unicorn. He cracks me up. He has recently come up with some great sayings. He's been saying things like, "I'm a boss." "Oh man, like a boss!" Today he was talking about golf camp and when talking about how he was doing in match play, he said, "I was bossing it up. BOSSING. IT. UP!" My favorite though was, when we were playing Telestrations (a game that is a cross between the game Telephone and Pictionary), he drew a picture that he knew was not his best work. He said to us, before he passed his book around, "you are about to be hilared!" He says these things straight faced, like they are real words. Meaning, this is hilarious and you are going to definitely think so.
I took Caroline to Orlando to see the Orlando Pride (Alex Morgan's team) play the Seattle Reign (Hope Solo's team). Carson Pickett, Caroline's coach's daughter, also plays for the Reign. It was really hot, but we had great seats. 3rd row, right at midfield.
The game was not very impressive. We are used to watching the Women's National Team, which is an exceptional team. This was a lot of kickball, bad passes, etc.
It was great to have a connection to the game. Carson played well. We struggled with who to root for, though. Normally we would support our "local" team, but we also wanted to support Carson. Orlando won, but we felt like we lost, since we were primarily there to see Carson.
Caroline has been really into cooking lately, especially baking. She even created a private account on Pinterest to find new recipes. Here she is making brownies.
Every time we go to the shoe store, she has to try on some high heels. Scary!
