Catch Up Pics

I have a bunch of pictures from the past few months. The kids and Daddy love to play basketball.  They go out often to play.  I can't wait for the summer.  Kevin is going to play with his friends at the YMCA.

Since we love ice skating so much, we decided to meet up with the Passalacqua family for some roller skating fun.  Caroline enjoyed it.
Kevin, not as much.  It is really hot in there.  Who would have thought ice skating would be easier?  I think we will stick with that.
After a big hiatus, we got the bikes out.  Kevin's bike was too small for him.  Caroline decided to check it out too.  It looked like a clown bike.  This picture was taken just a few minutes before she wrecked, and had to be carried out of the road.  Luckily she was just a little banged up, and was fine.
Over spring break, we went to the ice skating rink.  Now this is a fun time!
Caroline is an old pro by now.
Her friend Reese met us at the rink and Caroline helped her around.  They had lots of fun.
One weekend, I went down to the Keys with my high school friend Lena.  While we were there, Caroline went to the Boston Breakers vs the Jamaican National Team soccer game back in St. Augustine.  Caroline got to escort the Jamaicans out on the field.  The girls enjoyed being part of the game.
Kevin went through a really rough patch.  He got a terrible cough that kept him up at night and tortured him during the day. Tom and I struggled because there was nothing we could do to help him.  Over a 12 day period, we were at the doctor 3 times.  They gave him breathing treatments at the doctor's office and sent him home with the equipment and medicine.  Every 2 hours he had to take another treatment for 3 days.  We saw no improvement.  The doctor had no idea what was wrong and sent him for an x-ray.  Of course the x-ray was inconclusive, but the doctor treated him for walking pneumonia.  The antibiotic and hydrocodone helped immensely.  He was able to go back to school in 2 more days.  All in all, Kevin missed 8 days of school and 4 weeks of soccer.  His cough isn't completely gone, but he is functioning normally now.  No one else in the family caught Kevin's cough, but 2 weeks later, Caroline caught a teammate's fever.  She had a fever of over 103 to start and kept the fever for 4 days.  Since the doctor knew Kevin had been sick, she prescribed an antibiotic for Caroline too, which helped somewhat.  She only missed 3 days of school, but was laid up Memorial Day weekend.
Caroline's teacher, Mrs. Simmons, got sick at the beginning of the 4th quarter.  Usually after FSA testing, Mrs Simmons plans all sorts of fun activities for the kids.  Unfortunately, she is out on disability and couldn't do all she wanted to do.  The parents stepped up and led some of the activities.  I volunteered to head up Battle of the Books.  Caroline's team came in 4th place, but the Meese's had a good time.
After the Battle of the Books, the kids all went back to the classroom for some yummy "snacks" aka huge feast with foods that represented the 15 books that were part of the Battle.  While the kids all missed Mrs. Simmons, I think they enjoyed the activities the parents could provide.
