Summer is Here!

Well Summer is here!  Day 1, Kevin was up at 5:30 am playing his video games.  Since then, we have instituted a Don't you dare get out of bed before 7 rule.  Now to figure out how to get the kid to turn off the XBox without throwing a massive tantrum!

Christiano Ronaldo has an underwear line and since we are "friends" on Facebook, his pictures in his underwear show up on my newsfeed from time to time.  The kids find it hilarious.  This is Kevin's tribute to Ronaldo!

The US Men's National Team had a World Cup sendoff game versus Nigeria in the Jaguar stadium.  Friends of ours brought their RV down and had a big tailgating party.  Right before we needed to make our way to the stadium, Kevin got an icee (in a bowl).  He was taking forever to eat it with a spoon, so Tom helped him drink it.

Caroline is ready!

Kevin was hot and had eaten 5 cookies, a bunch of chips, and an icee.  He was not as excited.

Caroline got a quick pic with her friend Avery before heading to the stadium.  I forgot to take pictures inside.  We sat with our club and ended up playing musical chairs quite a bit.  Plus it was really hot and the sun was blazing in our face.  The game was fun for Caroline and me, but not as much for Tom and Kevin.  USA went on to win 2-1.  Let's hope for a good run at the World Cup!

The kids had a 3v3 tournament during the USA game weekend.  Caroline's team started off well, but fell apart.  They have a couple holes on their team and played a weird defense.  Oh well, they had fun.

Kevin's team fared much better and came in 2nd place.  Kevin played some excellent soccer.  He was exhausted by the end.  Playing 4 games in 95 degree heat is not is thing.  Unfortunately for him, sitting on his butt for 14 hours a day playing video games is not my thing. Go Force!

Caroline has been having fun hoola hooping.  Here is a video of her latest trick.

At night the kids bring their books out to read before bed.  Family reading time.  So nice.

We went to the pool this week.  Kevin had fun in the little kids water play area.

Caroline and Avery were back and forth between the pool and the playground.  They took a break for snacks.

Kevin is finally tall enough to go down the big water slide.  He was nervous to try it at first (I think because he had flashbacks to last summer when he waited in line, made his way up the steps, only to be sent down because he wasn't tall enough).  He had a blast and kept going around and around and around.  Summer is starting out great.  We haven't been to the beach yet, but hope to go next week.
