Awards Galore!

The kids' school has a program called Character Counts.  They give the awards out twice a year to kids who show great character in the fields of Responsibility, Citizenship, Trustworthiness, Respect, Caring, and Fairness.  Last semester Caroline received the award.  This semester Kevin won!!!!Tom and I went to the ceremony.  He was so proud of himself.  So were we!  Then, just a couple days later, Caroline's soccer coach texted me that Kevin had found $2 laying on the ground at school and he turned it in to his teacher.  They were so impressed with his good character that they let him keep the money.
He got a cool certificate and a coupon for a free kids meal at Moe's.  He is more excited about the free kids meal, even though he doesn't even like Moe's.  This kid cracks me up!
Caroline also won the award again!  Here she is with her friends Mia and Ellie.
And her award
Caroline won the Presidential Fitness Test Award!!!!  She has been working so hard for this since 1st grade and has fallen short by 1 situp or 1/2 inch on the V-sit.  But this year, she made it!  She was the only one in 3 third grade classes to get it.  She got huge cheers from her classmates.
Last week, I thought the rain had ended for the day and took Kevin's bike to the school for the ride home.  I was wrong.  We were soaked by the time we got home.
Caroline's soccer team had their end of season soccer party on Wednesday.  Their coach got them all cool t-shirts complete with mustachioed soccer balls.  Cute!
The girls had a 5v5 tournament this weekend, now that summer soccer has ended (one week after the regular season ended).  They played 3 fantastic games and then in the final, we don't know what happened.  They beat the first team like 10-0, the second 11-1, and then tied a good boys team 2-2.  They played the team they beat 11-1 for the championship and ended up losing 3-2.  What the heck happened?  It was crazy.  99 times out of 100 they would have beat this team.  Unfortunately this was the 1 time they didn't.  Oh well...  On to the next one.
