Pre-Vacation Pics

Last time I updated the blog was right before Kevin's 1st swim lesson.  He was terrified.  When I would swim with him, he would cling to me for dear life.  Here he is on day 3: Swimming on his own with a noodle!  By his 5th lesson, he was swimming on his own with just a kick board.  Now he can push off the wall, swim with his head in the water, coming up for breaths for about 10 feet!  He had an amazing teacher.  Now Kevin is dying to play in the water all the time.  It should be a fun summer!

Caroline's school had their annual art show/ice cream social.  Here is her artwork displayed.  It is a cityscape that she painted.

Kevin found his buddy Nathan.  They had fun being silly together!

At the park, Kevin started pumping his legs himself.  He quickly tires of it and asks me to push, but I'm seeing the end of shoulder pain in the near future!

He also is working on riding his 2 wheel + training wheels bike.  He has been resisting even trying this bike, but the promise of summer bike trips to get ice cream have him motivated.

We took the kids to Disney a few weekends ago to see my friend Lena and her family (of course I got no pictures of all of us together.  grrr)  Here they are with Daddy near the castle.  See those blue skies in the background?  Well they didn't last long.  We rode on 1 ride before the sky opened up.

But that just meant that we could get ice cream!

The next day we went to Animal Kingdom.  I promised the kids that they could get their faces painted.  I thought Kevin fell asleep getting his done.

And my terrifying Dino Kevin.  He was so scary to look at.  It freaked Tom and I out every time we glanced his way. 

Here is another example of Caroline's artwork.  She did a ladybug mosaic.  Beautiful.  Caroline loves art and is looking forward to art camp this summer at the art museum downtown.

Kevin had his end of year picnic.  Here he is playing with his buddies on the field.

Here are the preschool kids playing baseball.  Very interesting since no one really knew the rules.  Kevin would hit and then run for a while and then stand at a base, then go backwards.  Sometimes there were 2 kids on a bag.  Whatever.  It's fun!

Caroline had her last horseback riding lesson with her friend Lauren.  Seems like all of her horseback riding buddies move away.  We are so sad, but we will see them again soon.
