Santa!!!

Because of our cruise, we are way behind in our usual Christmas festivities. Today we finally made it to the mall to see Santa. Of course, there is a story...

Typically we go see Santa in the morning in early December. We never have to wait in line. It's great. Unfortunately because Caroline has school every morning and because of our cruise, we didn't make it there until 2:45 on the 18th. Not a good idea. We met up with Aunt Leslie and Michael and the line was crazy long. With 2 little guys and 1 cranky mommy (me), I decided that it wasn't worth it to me. I was ready to wait until Monday early and get to Santa before too many people got to the mall. Say 7:30'ish. Luckily Leslie mentioned that there is never a line at her mall, so we all headed over there and happily there was a relatively short line.

Caroline and Michael were excited to see Santa, but Kevin...not so much. (You can't tell it from Michael in this picture - He really was excited.) Santa is great as an inflatable in some one's front yard, but not someone he wanted to get close to. As soon as he could see that kids were sitting on Santa's lap and getting their picture taken, he put 2 and 2 together...hmmm we are waiting in the same line those kids were....those kids in front of us are now sitting on his lap....HELP!!!! He started crying when there were still 2 kids in front of us. There was no point in even trying. Michael had a good time. He didn't want to leave Santa. Caroline told Santa what she wanted and was ready to move on after making a cute little pose for pictures. She told Santa she wanted a big container of glitter (not going to happen) and her own couch (like the one in her playroom isn't good enough). I guess it is going to be another disappointing Christmas for her.
In case you are wondering about the outfit. I told her to go into her room and put on something kind of nice and Christmasy. She picked the white t-shirt, red mini-skirt, and flip flops. Do you think we live in Florida or what? Granted it is 78 today (not to rub it in to any of you who live up north - by the way, we are going to the beach tomorrow - more pictures to come!) Stay warm!
