Caroline Spring Soccer

In loading these pictures, I realized that I didn't take many (quality) game playing shots.  I didn't bring my nice camera and with the size of the full 11v11 field, the iPhone just doesn't cut it.  Below are pictures my iPhone did take.

Caroline's coach also coaches one of the best teams in the country.  They were playing at home for the Region Championship.  Caroline and Kamryn braved the freezing cold temperatures to watch them pull out the win.

The girls headed up to Richmond for a tournament.  We are ready for the road trip.

Sadly, our friend Lonnie died a few days earlier.  We all miss Lonnie dearly.  He used to bring a sucker to keep himself from saying things he shouldn't.  It was his trademark.  All of the guys had their Lonnie-pops in memory of him.

Naturally Logan did not join us for the tournament.  Coach Pickett gave the girls black tape to wear as a tribute to Logan and her family.  It was a very emotional weekend for everyone.

Florida Elite has a partnership with the Boston Breakers.  They come down during spring break for their preseason training.  Caroline went out to watch the practice and meet with the players.

Caroline's had some injuries this season.  She got a busted lip in Richmond.

and a strawberry on her leg.  They both healed quickly.  This summer though, she woke up with knee pain.  She can't run without feeling extreme pain.  Upon further inspection from an orthopedic doctor, it turns out that she has weak hips that is causing the knee pain.  She is seeing a physical therapist 3 days a week to try to get it under control.

Caroline's World History teacher assigned them a helping others project.  They had to help around the house, their school, and their community, then put together a project to present to the class.  The girls volunteered to help put together registration packets on the same day there was a contest to see who could wear their "volt" best.  This is one submission.

They all took an end of season picture together.  These girls have been together (more or less) for 5 years.  Next season they are changing the age guidelines from school year to birth year.  Our team will be split.  Some are older, some younger, some quit, and some went to other clubs.  We are all sad to be separating from our friends - both kids and parents.

Caroline reminded me that her World History teacher/Cross Country Coach came to a couple games and got some pictures.  Woohoo!  Soccer playing pictures!
