Summer is here. On our first day off we rode our bikes to the park.
The kids had fun, but we barely made it back before Tropical Storm Andrea arrived. Then we were stuck in the house for a day and a half.
Friday we just had to get out of the house, but couldn't guarantee that the storm would be gone, so we met Jenna and Ryan at the bowling alley. They give free games for A's on the report cards. Kevin won the day, but he did use the bumpers.
Caroline's lane was more painful to watch as balls went into the gutter a little to frequently. Still the kids had fun.
This weekend we had the first soccer tournament of the summer in Ponte Vedra. Caroline's team won. In the process they beat their nemesis twice, while going undefeated! Go Clash! Here are Logan, Brenna, Reese, Avery, Kamryn and Caroline sporting their 1st place medals.
Kevin's team also won! They beat all of the U6 boys in their division, only losing to the 2 older girls teams they played. Go Force! Here are Blake, Evan, Kevin, Micah, Brody, and Bennett with their 1st place medals.
This week the kids have had basketball camp in the mornings and we have not done any fun activities in the afternoon. In order to stop the whining before it began on Wednesday, I decided to pick the kids up from camp, head straight to the beach for a picnic lunch and to play in the sand and water for the afternoon. We all had a blast. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding and also for floating on the rolling waves just a little further out. I love how the kids ride the waves in. Caroline scrunches her eyes and mouth closed tight to keep the water out. Kevin closes his eyes, but can't control the joy, and comes in with a huge toothy grin.
Kevin is showing off his new boogie board.
The kids also had fun building sand castles
We turned Kevin into a merman. Caroline decorated his tail with shells she found.
I think he loved breaking out of the merman tail more than the creation of it.
Next it was Caroline's turn. A perfect day at the beach.
