Spring Break Zoo Day

Spring Break was chilly this year, but we couldn't sit around the entire break, so we headed to the zoo with Caroline's friend Logan.  When we got there, the train pulled right up for us, so we hopped on and headed to the back of the zoo.
The special dinosaur exhibit was back at the zoo and the kids had a ball.  Some of the dinosaurs were a bit scary and Caroline and Logan had fun scaring each other around the turns.
The tyrannosaurus rex was roaring moving around a bit.  Only Kevin was not scared enough to pose in front of him for a picture.  In fact he was taunting the big dino, "You want a piece of me?  Huh?  You want a piece of me?"
Here are the kids excavating dinosaur bones.
A quick pic with the panda statue in the spooky bamboo forest.
Next we headed to the play park
Just hanging around

Slide train!
Grooming the goats

Next up - the carousel.

Finally we stopped to see some animals!

We usually skip the sting ray bay because the kids won't pet them, but Logan helped Kevin feel a little courageous.  Caroline still stood back.  Unfortunately, the sting rays never came close enough.  Oh well, he tried.
We all had a great time at the zoo and were there for over 5 hours.  Our longest trip to the zoo yet!
